Getting New Cubes

After watching many cubing videos, we decided that we should buy more cubes such as pyraminx, 2x2, skewb a timer and more, but my dad didn't want us to buy it all in one so at first we decided to buy the timer, a pyraminx and a megamix. About a month later, we used a gift card I got for my birthday for smiths toy superstore, where we some bought some very good 3x3 that we are going to use for our first comp which might be this September, and I am so excited. The comp is in Edinburgh (Scotland), and it is the weekend of my dad's birthday so he wants so spend his birthday in Edinburgh! I average 1:7, and my pb is 1:4. 

Welcome To The Life Of Cubing 

Hi, my name is Maya Joly. I started my cubing career back in early July only this year learning first 3x3 and soon after Pyraminx, too. On this blog I will tell you all about my cubing hobby every step of the way.

My story starts on my way to the isles of Lewis and Harris in Scotland for my summer holidays with my family.

 Once we parked at the harbour waiting to get on the ferry, my brother, Edgar, was trying to teach me how to solve the 3x3 using beginner method. At the start I didn't have much interest in cubing, and I wasn't gaining much confidence, and with my brother getting 30 second solves, as I was averaging 4 minutes, I really wasn't convinced to keep on the hobby. I only started enjoying cubing when me, my brother and my sister, Klara, did a comp together and tried to beat our own PBs instead of competing against each other. Once my sister knew how to solve, We would often do comp and use CS timer to record our AO5s and AO12s.
